Hogarth, William
Engraving from a painting
Engraving of a bar or indoor scene with men gathered around a table. Men are speaking and shouting at one another and one has fallen, perhaps struck by another. Text on the bottom as follows: "Think not to find one meant Resemblance there/ We lash the Vices but the Persons spare/Prints should prizd as Authors should be read/Who sharply smite prevailing Folly dead/So Rabilaes Laught, & so Cervantes Thought/So Nature dictated what Art has Taught."
